Product description

Sometimes rain is cold and sometimes it’s bone-soaking cold. We made our Insulated Torrentshell for days of sideways precipitation and uncivilized temps. A 2-layer H2No Performance Standard waterproof/breathable nylon ripstop shell, with a 100 % recycled face, keeps the water out. Patagonia also made this waterproof winter jacket warmer and more eco-friendly, with 100 grams of heat-trapping Thermogreen insulation (92% recycled). The adjustable, insulated hood has a laminated visor (which doubles as a rain spout), and 2-way pit zips help with venting. We’ve overhauled the pockets: two zippered handwarmers, lined with soft microfleece, and an interior zippered security pocket. Hook-and-loop cuffs and a dual-adjust drawcord hem seal out the elements, while a simple cord-and-hook design allows you to stow the hood when the skies clear.

bluesign Approved Fabric
Any fabric that’s bluesign approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in its manufacture that conserves resources and minimizes impacts on people and the environment.

H2No Performance Standard
2-layer H2No Performance Standard shell fabrics are completely waterproof, windproof and breathable. They combine a water-repellent shell fabric with a waterproof/breathable membrane. They also have an internal Taffeta or mesh lining for increased durability and next-to-skin comfort.

Recycled Polyester
In 1993, Patagonia adopted fleece into our product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. Patagonia was the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system - one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people´s health. Today, they are able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. Patagonia now recycles used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including their own) into polyester fibers to produce many of their clothes. Using recycled polyester lessens the dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Lightweight 100 % polyester (90 % recycled) insulation that stays warm, even when wet.
